Your Favorites: Design Manifest

Today we have the incredible Naomi, from Design Manifest here sharing her favorites. You have probably already seen her gorgeous loft on Design*Sponge, but I just had to have Naomi’s perspective on what her favorite parts are (there is so much to choose from). I am so incredibly inspired by her use of color and pattern: so risky, and she pulls it off to perfectly.

Also, today I am at Sadie + Stella participating in their favorite room series! Check it out!

Favorite Room
My favorite area is the living room.  It’s bright, colorful, eclectic and comfortable.  I like that I was able to mix in a lot: French, Asian, Modern, Traditional, High and Low. Since my apartment is an open loft, I have a full view of the space from my sofa.  I’m able to appreciate each item and textile.  While I was designing the space, I’d often sit in the living room and mentally rearrange and compose the loft in my head.

Favorite Textile

I love every single textile in my space.  I mixed a lot of color and pattern and really experimented and pushed my limits.  But my favorite has got to be my Nina Campbell Paradiso Wallpaper.  I’ve admired it for so long and was so excited to use it in my space.  I love that the colors coordinate with my other pieces, but also don’t quite match.

Favorite Piece of Art

Similar to my textiles, I have a lot of art and each piece is so special to me.  I’m lucky to have a lot of original art.  I suppose if I had to play favorites, it would be “The Ladies.”  I found this painting in my grandmother’s basement.  I love the pink background, the frame, and the fact that each lady (or fella) in the painting is different.  I notice something different in it each time I gaze at it.

Favorite Furniture

Man- this is hard!  I truly do love every piece of furniture I own.  My bar cart was a particularly special score as I won it at a furniture auction.  I had wanted my own beverage station for awhile, but was holding out for something special and inexpensive.  I lucked out with this vintage gold bamboo piece.  I bid $150 and won and then proceeded to celebrate like a crazy person in front of strangers.

Favorite Miscellaneous Item

I’m pretty obsessed with my vintage pagoda.  It’s one of those little things that make me ridiculously happy for no real reason.  I’ve been known to move it all over the apartment- it looks great on shelves, in a dinner table setting, on the coffee table.  I’d probably sleep with it if it weren’t so pointy.

Favorite Pug

I’m adding a 6th category- my favorite living thing- and that would be my pug, Bailey.  Without him, my home wouldn’t be as warm, snuggly, and loving.  And that just wouldn’t do.

Thanks for having me, Alex!
