Seattle

This weekend I am off to one of our best friends’ wedding in Seattle, and to add to the fun, we’ve got family to visit there, and a new city to explore. I’ve never been to Seattle, so lovely readers, any recommendations??
Since Spencer is a groomsmen, I’ll have some time to explore and would love to see all that this new city has to offer.

  1. welcome to my city! ok, try walrus and the carpenter in Ballard, cute area to walk around. Oddfellows on capital hill, then grab a molly moons salted caramel ice cream. Cute little area called Melrose market. Lovely chocolate shop on Westlake. I could go on and on! And make sure to stop by my friend Carrie’s home store Great Jones Home on 2nd Ave. It is a must see. Have fun!

  2. This is the perfect time of year to go to Seattle! My parents lived there while I was in college and it was a great summer escape from the midwest heat and humidity. If you have the time, a trip across the bay to Bainbridge or Bremerton is a must, and a sunset dinner at Rays Boathouse… preferably on the patio! There are so many great little places that one weekend isn’t enough! You could stop and shop around in Ballard on your way to Rays, or see the salmon ladders at the locks. All this is making me want to get back there, ASAP!

  3. make sure you stop by Revel in Fremont. awesomee korean fusion. they won best new restaurant in seattle in 2011 and there is an adjoining bar, Quoin. try the bittersweet romance or the paddington :)
