I love when a designer’s portfolio has a consistent component. I was recently perusing Jed Johnson’s portfolio and noticed that almost every single one of their projects included a wood paneled library. I love how the same type of room can be done so many different ways.
Which library is your style? Traditional, soft and light like the one on the top right? Or dark, modern and masculine like the one on the bottom left?
A little secret, two of these rooms are ones I’ve actually been in, and let me tell you, they are stunning in person!

Oooh – I love these! I love how they’re masculine in a way that can be perfect for a girl too. My fave is the top left with the black and white graphic Moroccan rug!

I love the idea of a room filled the bookshelves on every wall…so warm and cozy.
I think I like the bottom right. Just the lines and simplicity. But then old libraries like the one of above are so mysterious and wonderful in their own way.

I hope that one day my house has a library! Or at least some killer bookshelves.. Loving the one on the bottom right, I could totally cozy up on one of those couches with a book!
It’s so hard to pick! They all look so cozy and perfectly decorated. I think I prefer the hard and masculine. Seems a little more like a room to snuggle up with a book in or get down to some serious business when you’re trying to escape the rest of the world!

i don’t think i realized it until all of my recent house hunting – i gravitate toward them like crazy. i lean towards the smart, masculine style, but really love them all. you can do so much with them!! ox
