Random Fact Friday

This has nothing to do with design, fashion, food or really anything I normally blog about, but its a Friday…
Remember I mentioned a while back that a good friend of ours was the officiant for our wedding? Well he’s an incredibly talented actor who is part of an incredibly talented comedy group, and recently, he is part of a fantastic couple of commercials.
So let me introduce you to Beck Bennett. If you don’t know him now, you will after seeing these commercials. They are just so good. And the best part? His “character” in the commercials is 100% him. The commercials are actually loosely based on one of his comedy sketches.
There are more, but these are a couple favorites. Oh and he was in the newspaper yesterday.
Have a great weekend! xo

  1. I love those commercials! That is so awesome – it’s always fun to see friends on TV. In college, I was a ballet dancer and studied with all the other performing arts kids and every now and then I’ll see a friend from the acting school in a commerical or something. But this is a great character and how cool that he did your wedding!

  2. I teach kindergarten and these commercials CRACK me up because his conversations with the kids sound exactly like my daily reading groups and he says all the things I wish I could ask/say! haha

  3. Wow, I love those commercials of his! I stop what I’m doing to watch them when they come on. The things that the kids say in them are the best! Thanks for sharing your story of Beck with us!

  4. Just happened across this (random parent Google of son in semi-famous ad…) My son Zach is the “cheetah kid” (gray sweater) in the Grandma ad. Beck was very good with all the kids — very patient, funny, etc. They were indeed unscripted, except for the initial question (fast/slow, et al.) He’s a good actor for sure, he’ll be a great Dad or would make a great teacher if he chose to do that too. Happy for him that he’s breaking out.

    Best, Troy Hinrichs
