Interior Dreams

Given that our new house is not our forever house (oh and you know that little thing called a budget), there are quite a few things that we are not going to do during this renovation, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t on my wish list. Here are a couple of those things that will be saved…

Herringbone floors and moldings make me crazy
Marble counter tops… just can’t rationalize the maintenance, but ohhhh I love them.
A dining banquette. One day I will find the perfect spot for one.
Steel windows. Enough said.
What interior details do you dream of?

  1. I need marble countertops in my life then ill throw a complete tantrum when they get stained because they are so delicate. I love herringbone floors but find it hard to do that style in New England, maybe in a city apartment but not so sure about the burbs. Also if you do herringbone in one area do you need to carry out through an entire house?

  2. pretty much all these things!! The banquette is probably one of my most urgent ones! SO that will get priority eventually. ALso the steel windows….I have been researching and there are some that are steel on the outside and wood on the inside so they are slightly less expensive……good to know!

  3. I want subway tile in my kitchen and marble counters!!! (Although, i could never get Marble, my Husband is too careless – so something that looks like marble!)

  4. steel windows would be amazing! I’m all herringbone floors, seriously gorgeous. I think one thing I’d love to do to our house is to install some type of wainscoting, that would be fantastic.

  5. What a wonderful piece of information Admiring the time and effort you put into your blog and detailed information you offer! I will bookmark your blog and have my children check up here often.
