Forget.Me.Not

For my birthday my mom gave me the most unbelievably special gift. An incredible piece of art. But the thing is… it wasn’t originally art, it was a scarf. A forget-me-not scarf. This is the one I was given, its a little less peach (more cream) in person and its heaven. Its watercolory, bright, and honestly, breathtaking. There are little sketched gems, colorful flowers and butterflies. I mean, its just girly goodness.
I am struggling with framing options. Right now I am leaning towards a bronze finish box frame (see picture right below). Originally, I wanted to frame it in a plexi box but the fabric is so thin, it would not have turned out well (think, drooping and humidity). Do you have any other suggestions before I finalize??? And the best part, its huge!! 48″ x 48″. I cannot wait to have it back and hung in my house.

In the meantime, here are some of my favorite scarves from their various collections. I would be more than happy to have ANY of these beauties framed in my house. I just really think they are too pretty to wear. Click on pictures to see these beauties close up.

Mine was purchased at Barneys, but they do sell some on their website too!

  1. Oh my good heaven…your scaft is positively breathtaking. I seriously adore it. I might need one- holy gorgeous batman. As for the frame, I like the bronze/gold idea a lot- were there any narrower frames? I think it would look great with a very slim profile. I can’t wait to see it framed and in your house

  2. Ah thank you all so much!! I am just as excited as you all are! I can’t stop staring at it.

Christine, my hestitation with dropping it off at the framer is that they are waiting to see if they have a thinner option! We are definitely on the same page there.

  3. so gorgeous!! What a great gift.

I have a framed silk scarf that I acquired from my grandmother. The scarf was actually sewn onto the backing. Which doesn’t bode well if you ever want to wear it! It has held up pretty well though, and its from the 60′s
