Yesterday I went to visit the new DreamHome at the Merchandise Mart. DreamHome is a staged home set up inside the Mart and twice a year they choose different designers to design each room.
I took some pictures on my phone but they were so terrible and grainy I decided to share these (from the website) instead, still not the best quality.

| This was a close second for favorite. The foyer. Up close the wainscoting had the most beautiful texture, almost like an antique tin and the most beautiful chandelier. |

| Liked this. Mix of neutrals, pink and blue but it still didn’t have a wow factor to me. |

| Bedroom was pretty, nothing crazy exciting. |

| Dressing room was by far the highlight. Check out that gorgeous artwork. |

| The kitchen was beautiful but a little formal and traditional for my taste. But the marble dog bowls (far right) are incredible. |
It’s so much fun to see all the different designers takes on these spaces. If you’re in the Chicago area I definitely suggest checking this out in person, its free and open to everyone.
Oh this is beautiful! I love that pop of color from the art in the foyer pic. I am also loving how industrial chic it looks. That lovely bookshelf was made of metal right! My favorite too!
This is gorgeous. I love the industrial look, and I would totally take home that white china cabinet!

I completely agree with you on your assessment. Some of the rooms are stunning, but others seem really pretty, but just didn’t have the WOW. Maybe they were trying to appeal to the masses? The artwork in the dressing room does seem fabulous – did they mention the artist? Also, although the kitchen is a bit traditional for us, the large marble island would be a DREAM for cooking! Thanks for sharing, especially for those of us who can’t make it to Chicago! xo
Oh I’d love to go. I adore adore that dressing room artwork and think I have to pitch the idea of a marble dog food bowl to Meredith re:kithchen- divine!
I’ve always wanted to go to the Mart! Someday I’ll make it back to Chicago.

Oh I love DreamHomes! I’ll def need to check it out this year. I used to work in the Mart, and I had to stop going in there because it made me not like my place so much. Lol!
I agree about the bedroom, pretty, but expecting more based on the rest of the home. That table in the foyer is amazing and a work of art in itself! Thanks for sharing Alex!
Love the dressing area !! Kind of hard to see clearly but the artwork does look beautiful and bright !
