Decorating Update

We moved into our new house with a lot to do and have accomplished quite a bit of it in terms of construction, but we still have so much decorating on our list. So today, I thought I’d share where we’re at. We’re moving slowly, and making investments in bigger items and letting the little ones follow with time.
A living room that is really inspiring me. I love the neutrals with a huge upholstered leopard ottoman and abstract art.

  • Sconces for the stairwells (on their way to us, just need to be installed)
  • Console for the entry (need something 10″ deep, any ideas?)
  • Wallpaper for the entry
  • Pendant for entry
  • Carpet runner for stairs
  • New sofa (get delivered on the 19th!!!!)
  • New coffee table (needs to be massive, should be interesting)
  • Recover chairs
  • Art for the family room (this has been our biggest challenge, we need something MASSIVE, and my husband is really opinionated about art, as am I)
  • New pillows (the last thing we’ll do)
  • New rug (this is at the bottom of the list as well since we like our current one, it just isn’t big enough)
  • Dining chairs
  • Dining chandelier
  • Window treatments in family room/dining/kitchen
  • Kitchen stools
  • Kitchen runner
When I look at this list it overwhelms me a bit. Being a designer, I want this all done in one swoop, but it just isn’t realistic for us. So I will keep knocking away at this list and sharing updates with you guys along the way

  1. Love anything leopard…and I’m with you on wanting everything done at once! But so unrealistic I have come to learn and my husband keeps preaching! haha Fingers crossed the burl wood piece works out!

  2. I was pretty bummed the other day when I took a good look at all that I want to do decorating wise here. There is just so much! Rugs, chairs, coffee table, art, lamps…le sigh. I’m trying to be patient, but sometimes it’s just so frustrating! I’m having one heck of a time trying to decide what to hang above the couch in the family room. I had decided to go with four photos, two rows of two, but after buying the frames, it didn’t look right. Okay, pity party over, lol. I’m enjoying following along, your house is gonna look amazing!
