Chicago Finds: Antique Malls

This past weekend I finally went out and really explored Chicago’s antique shops and I am so glad I did. I can’t believe it took me this long… I only bought a couple small things for myself, but I am seriously considering going back for the lucite chandy at the bottom.
Here is what I got for myself:
a little metal “a”

A precious little bowl I plan on filling with moss balls
Here are some of the goodies I sadly had to pass up:

How amazing would this piece be with a new shade and painted base?

The ikat upholstery was in perfect condition, and lucite?? Amazing.

Over a powder room sink? Yes please.

And here are some I am still considering…
I am still dreaming of this piece.

And this guy… a lucite chandy. I need this. Problem is, I want it for my closet and its a little bit more money than I’d like to spend on my closet. Still considering.
Best of all, the prices were really pretty reasonable. So happy to have discovered these gems. What are your favorite antique shops in Chicago? I need my next fix this weekend!
And if you haven’t entered my Tilly Maison Giveaway, tomorrow is your last day! You don’t want to miss this!

  1. So awesome! I’ve been itching to get out into some local antique places to discover some hidden treasures. Looks like you walked away with some really cool pieces, Alex!

  2. Shannon, the chair was $200, good for what it was but not cheap.

Julie & Lauren, I went to the two big ones on Broadway just south of Loyola (Broadway Antique Mall and Edgewater Antique Mall). Highly recommend.

  3. I am drooling over that ikat lucite chair. and you must go back and get the gold stool and chandy. So funny we both posted about our bargain finds today. Great minds think alike.

  4. Super cute chandy!! If it’s not too too much I’d go for it. You’ll forget the money quickly, but not the piece.

Your so lucky to have this in Chicago. Philadelphia has an antique row, but I find it to be lame and way overpriced.

  5. You’ve gotta be kidding me with these finds! This is so inspirational because I always feel sooooo overwhelmed in antique shops. And the chandy is a must. loves it.

  6. Oh my, that ikat chair is incredible! I’ve not been antiquing in the city. I think I’m too afraid of high prices/tough competition maybe. I really want to go to a flea market but have absolutely no idea where to go! Do you have any recommendations?!
