There has been some really fantastic stuff making the rounds on the internet lately. Here are a couple of my favorites

Summer Thornton has always been an interior designer I have loved to follow. Her designs are fearless, interesting and totally unexpected. This bathroom in the new issue of House Beautiful is the perfect example of her style. The wallpaper, with the floor. I love it one second and am totally confused by it the next. I think that’s why I love it.

Christine from Bijou and Boheme has always been one of my favorites. We were roommates in New York for Blogfest a while back, so I can attest she is just as fabulous in real life. Her talent is absolutely incredible. Everything she touches turns to feminine, funky, gold (literally, she loves brass). Her home was featured on Style Me Pretty Living this week and its amazing. Check out the full home tour immediately.

My friend Scott, from Scott Lyon & Company (mentioned here) recently posted some images from recently completed projects on their blog and let me tell you, each space is better than the next.

And of course, we finally shared our office on Glitter Guide yesterday. Liz is sharing sources today for anyone who is curious!

I’m in Aspen right now enjoying an amazing, long weekend with my family. Spencer and I both miss Colorado and the mountains so much, whenever we’re back we talk about someday buying a second home here. And if we did… I would want a replica of Aerin Lauder’s beautiful Aspen home. It is so serene, not overly decorated, modern but still cozy. Just perfect in my opinion.

Do you have a dream vacation home? This is most definitely mine.

Whenever Spencer does something incredibly unromantic, we call it the Romance Package. You know, like forgetting about Valentine’s day all together, or buying food coloring dyed daisies from the grocery store (and thinking they’re just as pretty as any other flower).

So with Valentine’s Day quickly approaching I’ve had my eye on romantic interiors and fashion, the real romance package. I have always loved airy, ethereal, feminine spaces and clothing, but this time of year reminds just how much.

How beautiful are these soft but really luxe spaces? I think for my next house…

Whenever I am looking for inspiration (for dinner, work, fashion etc) I spend some time on my Pinterest boards. There is just so much pretty. I’ve realized that lately I’ve been pinning a lot of images of trim detail. There is so much you can do with trim to make your space feel custom and special.

Have you used trim like this before? I am overflowing with applications and ideas.

Last night I was looking back through my recent posts and it really seemed like you guys like when I do AKD updates / home updates the best… and I don’t blame you. That is what I like to see from bloggers too.

Its fun for me to share AKD updates here so that you guys can stay up to date with projects, but also because I don’t like to share completed spaces until I have decent pictures, so these progress posts help a little.

A scheme for a lake house using Tilton Fenwick’s new line for Duralee. I am absolutely LOVING IT. The colors, the patterns. Cannot wait to use it all.

A shared this on instagram last night, but I’m so excited I wanted to share it here too. The gallery wall in Spencer’s office finally came to life and I couldn’t be more pleased. Every piece has meaning: a photograph by a friend, a picture of my grandparents from the 40′s, a drawing my sister did. And on, and on.

So smitten with this over-sized marble hexagon tile in a powder room.

As I continue trying to check projects off my list at our house, I decided to tackle Spencer’s office next. We have great built-ins and a sofa, so it just needs some finishing touches. Here was a little of my inspiration for wall decor.

I knew I wanted to create a gallery wall of meaningful items: things related to fishing, hunting, trading etc. In order to sell Spencer on it, I put together a little mock up of what its going to look like.

I am so excited to get it all hung and check it off my list

I’m finally making some serious progress at our house. I am absolutely my own worst client. A nightmare. I cannot make decisions. I am reupholstering chairs and changed my mind on the fabric at least 5 times. But there has finally been some serious progress.

I found these kilim and chrome benches at a local vintage shop and immediately fell in love. They are perfect for my living room.

I also looked through a bunch of options of carpet for our stairs. This has been something I’ve been putting it off forever but I finally found the perfect option. Its one of these three…

I also did a little restyling and rearranging for our bookshelves but I’m not sure that will ever stop

I also hung some art. That is always the final step to really making a space feel complete. My little Picasso lady and Sally King Benedict look so perfect stacked together. I also love the way the curtains frame the art.

And although not much has changed in there, I am still so smitten with our powder room Lindsay Cowles paper.

I can’t wait to share more of the completed space. The rug, newly upholstered chairs, pillows and console are all going to be here within the next couple weeks. Serious living room progress.

Last week I shared a little peek of a recently completed project, but today I’m going to share the whole thing. I worked with this client on their living room, dining room, entry and two bedrooms. We installed all new window treatments, had custom window benches made, a custom media console, and brought in a ton of accessories but also worked with some existing pieces (ie the sofa, dining table and art). It was such a fun project that completely pushed me outside of my colorful, glam, feminine box. We went more neutral, sexy and zen in this space and I absolutely love the outcome.
