I’m back… are you? I’m so sorry for completely deserting this blog over the past month. I can’t believe its been a month. A crazy busy month. I’m going to give blogging another go because I really do miss it. So today, a little update on what has been going on with AKD since a lot of new projects have started!

This is a client I have been working with for the past two years on the renovation and decorating of their beautiful, historic home. We’re almost finished, but the last big piece of the puzzle was the formal great room that had been empty since they moved in last spring. A couple of months ago we completed the design scheme for the space, now everything has been ordered so we’re just waiting to install. Unfortunately it will be a couple months, but I absolutely cannot wait.

I have been working with a really fun, young couple on their incredible loft space in downtown Chicago. The space was completely raw so we were able to customize it perfectly to suit them. Construction is going on right now (drywall this week!) and decorating for the space is in the works. They move in in August and our goal is to have the home completely decorated by then. They want funky, young, cozy and different. I love working with people want to take some risks.

This couple lives in the most perfect home in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. It really is my dream home. Herringbone wood floors, arched doorways, just the most spectacular details. We’ve completed their master bedroom, their living room (just needed some finishing touches) and now we’ve moved on to their family room and basement. They are so excited about the design process and its been so much fun seeing it all come together.

Just this week I am starting on a new construction home. The inspiration for the space is absolutely spectacular, I can’t wait to be a part of it.
