Baby Gifts

Thanks for all of your feedback yesterday. I so appreciate the insight!

Now, I am going to look to you all once again. I need to buy quite a few baby presents but I am at a loss. What do I get??
I got a blanket from Mela & Roam for a friend a while ago. With a cute little monogram it was such a great gift.
But now I am looking for something new…
As an interior designer, I love the idea of giving these ballet illustrations and contributing to the design of the little one’s room
But a design conscious mom might not want someone else’s stuff in their perfectly designed nursery!
So, new mommas, what were your favorite presents?

  1. As a very new mom, the things on a registry are so important. This was my first child and before her I would buy cute gifts for my friends. Now I realize a cute outfit in addition to an item from the registry is the way to go.

  2. Well as the recipient of the blanket, I must say that it is our FAVORITE!!!! Benjamin uses it to snuggle with, in the stroller, in the carseat, and to play on. What a sweet gift! xoxo

  3. I think a monogrammed blanket is always a good gift. Otherwise I say go off the registry. Usually if it’s on there it’s something they need/want. :)

  4. everyone i know says buy off the registry. however, if they have already received everything on there, go for something personal. for my friend, i ordered a handmade stuffed elephant and matching burp clothes with the exact colors of the nursery for her baby girl.

  5. One of my go-to baby gifts is a “keepsake” item – a cute piggy bank to display in the baby’s room. My favorite ones are Jonathan Adler. I’ve given the elephant one to a few friends (it comes in light pink, light blue and white) and each one has loved it. While the JA ones can’t be monogrammed due to the texture, I’m sure you could find other cute ones that could be monogrammed with the baby’s initials.

    Happy searching!

  6. I always love to give gifts to the mom herself. The baby will have clothes and blankets galore, but as a new mama I know that, a little chocolate, perfume, or a new nightgown goes a loooonggg way. Just a little pampering for her :-)

  7. I agree – as someone who’s expecting a baby in a month buy off the registry – babies need SO much stuff and I always used to buy people cute little outfits and toys and now I feel terribly knowing how much my new mom friends had to go buy on their own!

  8. I agree with the registry comment and also the comment about a little something for mommy. Even if the baby is not the first, the mom & Dad may still have a registry to help them organize what things they need. Nothing is better than having enough formula, detergent, and bottles in the house when you can’t walk long distances.

  9. Thank you for sharing this work with me but I am the best of the world. Thank you very much for sharing it but I am the best of the world mate.. A powerful site and also a good blog with nice articles as they are very much related to every other particular subject matter

  10. of course you can also give the stylish clothes. It would be interesting to know the sex of the first child for you to choose the right colors and styles. Can you give a punk rock baby clothes for the child and other things for the little girl Princess.
    Thanks…
