A couple requests

My dearest readers,
I have some requests.
1. Can someone please please please make pillows out of these gorgeous napkins???
2. What are thoughts on wallpaper in a MASTER bathroom? I know the scary myths of the steam making it peel… but is it really true? Because I’m dying to do it….
My guest bathroom!

3. I bought this dress for an upcoming black tie. NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY BODY. I pulled this pic of the store’s website. I WISH.

What accessories can I wear to make it more fun? I would love to do a pink lip, but I just can’t pull it off. Any other ideas? Jewelry? Clutch?

So what do you think? New pillows? Wallpapered bathrooms? Accessories?

THANK YOU!!!! XO

  1. Anthro has me brain washed. Before I even clicked on via it was absolutely clear. This is a problem haha Wallpaper? Do it! I’m dying to do it too. Let me know ;) Accessories? Well I’m a major fan of the pink lip so I say you go for it with NARS Schiap (my all time go-to!) …you can do it!!!

  2. I agree with Jillian, I would definitely do earrings with that neckline, some fun lipstick, a neutral clutch and a fun, bright, colorful shoe!

  3. You can totally pull off pink lipstick with that dress! Otherwise I would go with a pretty berry color. It would look good with your skin tone : ) And jazz it up with some gold bangles or a cool clutch.
    XOX

  4. I love that first pattern, you can definitely do wallpaper in a bathroom- I am, and that dress….fabulosity!!!! I’d do a sparkly clutch, dangly earrings (some long quartz like pair) and layered gold bracelets…and love MFAMB’s idea of green shoes- emerald.

  5. I love those wallpapered bathroom inspiration pictures! In my teenage yrs, my mom wallpapered my bathroom, and I hated it, so I always wished for it to peel off, but it never did (even tried to steam up the bathroom, but to no avail)!

Beautiful dress-love the idea of colored heels!

  6. Ditto on green shoes– I’d do green, gold, and a touch of pink in the accessories

Wallpaper in a master bath really does peel. There are so many great stencils on the market these days to achieve the same look, I’d try that.

  7. 1. I need to learn to sew so I can make little pillows out of fabrics like that. 2. I have NO idea about whether wallpaper can hold up in a bathroom, though I agree, it looks fab. 3. ADORE that dress. I say go for a colorful shoe, bracelets that sparkle, and chandelier earrings. A colorful clutch is a great idea too!

  8. I think you could totally pull off pink lips or at least corally ones. I’d add a cobalt or bright green clutch and some chandelier earrings. As for bathrooms, if I wasn’t a renter, I would totally put wallpaper in my bathroom. I recently did a post with mostly wallpapered bathrooms as inspiration so I say go for it!

  9. BIG yes on Master Bath wallpaper! I wallpaper every bathroom, always…love! AS to that fab dress…I would do minimal accessories. Big sparkly earrings, light peachy pink lip gloss and a black clutch on the more plain/solid/conservative side…love it!

  10. I have heard that modern wallpapers are fine in bathrooms, and that the peeling issue is a thing of the past. However, I’ve not done it myself.

LOVE the dress – I think you could do some jewel tone accessories or shoes and those would pop against the black and white. In my head I’m thinking of those emerald tear drop earrings Angelina Jolie wore recently and how awesome something like that would look.

    Great choices, as always!

  11. I think you should do wallpaper too! I have been debating this as well. I think I am going to stencil mine instead but I am scared it is going to be such an undertaking! LOve the dress!! I say glam it up with big earrings and a bracelet + a colorful clutch. Please post pics after you wear it!!

  12. Pillows shouldn’t be hard to do. You can get inserts at Calico Corners or stuff them yourself with fiberfill from a crafts store.

#1 and #3 are 20″ napkins. If you want 18″ pillows, stitch a 1″ seam, leaving an opening for stuffing or inserting a form. It helps to stitch the corners twice so you don’t poke through the corner when you turn it.

If you want a 20″ pillow, take out the hem so what’s turned under is your seam allowance. If you think you might wash the covers, wash the napkins first in case they shrink a little.

For #2, I’d put the fringe on the left and right sides and stitch some pretty coordinating fabric to each end, laying the fabric under the napkin and stitching near each fringe edges. Then cut a piece of fabric the same size as your new piece and stitch as above. That would give you a rectangular pillow and let you take advantage of that pretty fringe, rather than having it in a seam allowance.

If you don’t have a machine, you could do these by hand. A backstitch would be stronger than a running stitch. Good luck!

  13. I have wallpaper in all of my bathrooms and I’ve never had trouble with it – love these picks!! Your dress is fabulous. I’d wear great earrings and shoes – the dress it so wonderful it stands alone!!

  14. If I had sewing skills I would! I love wallpaper in the master bathroom, but I’m not sure if it peels or not, that would be a deal breaker for me. So, if the myth is true, wallpaper the 1/2 bath and then you won’t have problems with the steam.

For the dress, I would wear my hair up with some chandelier earrings or a statement bracelet and yes yes yes to pink lipstick.

  15. Ha! 1 — I WISH I were talented enough to make some pillows out of those napkins. I’d surely throw them on my couch! 2- I’d go for it with the wallpaper. It’s too fabulous to pass up ;) and 3- I’d stay REALLY simple & throw on a big cocktail ring & and a solid color clutch.

  16. Lovely dress. I think a bright clutch will really make it wowza. And simple jewelry because there’s already so much pattern going on. Maybe hair up and some long, simple earrings.

As for wallpaper in the master bath, no clue. I heard that myth too. And yes, pillows would be ahhhh-some!

  17. Great Post!
    Love all the wallpapers.
By any chance do you know the source for the first overscale damasky wallpaper?
