I know Alex loves the link between fashion and interiors just as much as I do, so the moment I saw this image of Diane Kruger looking Parisian chic at the Chanel Haute Couture show for Paris fashion week I thought it would be fun to do a Closet to Casa Maison post.  In my eyes Diane Kruger and Chanel can do no wrong. Take the image above, not only do I love the details of Diane’s outfit; denim Chanel frock, metallic clutch, sparkling cuff earring, and red nails…all topped off with a black beret, but I just can’t get over the trompe l’oeil architectural details displayed behind her.  If you haven’t seen pictures of the show then I suggest you hop over here and take a peek–the walls, ceiling and door surrounds were all adorned with trompe-l’oeil murals based on Chanel’s original salon de couture.  I used this detail as my jumping-off point for creating a lovely little Parisian dining room.

The white trompe l’oeil panelling wallpaper is great alternative to the custom Chanel sketch, the blue linen chairs and classic metal bistro table pick up the colors of Diane’s dress and beret, the mirrored sconces add a bit of sparkle and the monogrammed napkins add a much needed dash of color.  Oh and I can’t forget the insanley cute vintage scotty lighter…someone please buy it!  Just add a bottle of champagne and you’ll be set!

And speaking of champagne, I hope Alex is drinking plenty in celebration of her nuptials! Félicitations, Alex!
