Your Favorites: Look Linger Love

Well its been exactly a month since my last guest series, so now its time to introduce you to another one of my absolute favorite reads, Look Linger Love. Chassity had the amazing opportunity to design her house from scratch! So here it is… her favorites!

Hello Sparkly readers! I’m so excited to be here today sharing some of my favorite things. Things That Sparkle is one of my favorite blog reads, and Alex is one of my favorite bloggie friends. So when Alex asked me to contribute to her fun series I was honored, and then was quickly racking my brain. I have so many things that I love in my home. Here are just a few of the things make me smile on a daily basis.

Favorite Room:

My kitchen is easily my favorite room in my home, which is a good thing because this is where much of my day is spent. We built our home so I was lucky to design every last detail (a headache to many but so much fun to me!). I’m a sucker for grey tones, so my whole home is comprised of shades of grey and white. If I had to narrow it down to a couple of my kitchen favorites, I would say that I most love the charcoal painted ceiling and the marble brick tile backsplash by Saltillo.

Favorite Piece of Furniture:

This was also a really easy decision. My Luccia sofa by Cisco Brothers is hands down my favorite piece of furniture (purchased from Dwelling). While it was a splurge, the craftsmanship, comfort, and beauty of this sofa has easily made it a must have. We have two sofas in our family room, yet on many nights you’ll find my husband and me snuggled up together on it thanks to it’s extra deep and roomy seat.

Favorite Textile:

I had a little more trouble deciding what to share for my favorite textile. I love everything in my home, but textile wise there aren’t any real obvious standouts. But I do think that this Damask Tibetan rug from Restoration Hardware in my entry hall sets the right mood for the rest of my home.

Favorite Piece of Art:

At our wedding 4 years ago we commissioned artist Danny McLaughlin to capture our reception as it unfolded. Today we have this beautiful painting hanging in our dining room as a reminder of that amazing day with all of our friends an family.

Favorite Miscellaneous Item:

I had a hard time deciding what to share here as there are so many things in my home that I love. But considering that this chandelier (purchased from Carolina Lanterns) was probably the first purchase my husband and I made for our home I think it’s fitting to include it. It hangs above our dining table and adds a glamorous feel to the room.

Thanks so much for having me today Alex. I hope you enjoyed the brief tour of some of my favorite things in my home.

XOXO,

Chassity

a new year, brings big change

A while back I posted about this room. It actually made my little sister tear up she thought it was so beautiful. Then today, I was reading the new House & Home I saw that the designer, Victoria Webster, had redone the room. The crazy thing is, the room is entirely the same, except for the walls. And wow, do the walls change everything.

Here is the original room:

And here it is now:

(So sorry for the picture quality, I couldn’t find it anywhere online so I had to scan)

They removed the wallpaper and had a mural painted on the walls and wow does it change the entire room. I have to say, I absolutely love seeing how designers move around and change their own homes.

What do you think, do you like the original or the new room better?
