Christine, thank you so much for inviting to be a part of your new series! This was so much fun!! So here they are, seven images that define my style…WARNING: I define style very loosely!

This is one of my favorite pieces of art by Lynn Geesaman. Its so feminine and soft, but has so many unexpected pops of colors. I definitely wouldn’t describe my style as outdoorsy (actually really far from it), but after 4 years in college in Colorado and the rest of my life surrounded by Lake Michigan, I have a real appreciation for nature and how freaking gorgeous it can be. Especially flowers. Is there anything better than fresh flowers in your house??

This picture perfectly shows the style in which I live. Comfort, pure comfort. With a teensy bit of glamy goodness. I love gorgeous, glamorous interiors, but at the end of the day, I want my own house to be one I can cuddle up to and never have to leave. Fur throws, comforters, and pillows are all musts.

I love to travel. I live my life always thinking of the next exciting place I can visit! My travel style? To try to go somewhere I’ve never been (like Santa Margherita, in the picture above, this past summer) and go with people I love. And if I’m lucky, save a little money to shop along the way.

Although most of the dinner parties I throw don’t look like this, I still love to entertain. I think the best possible way to spend a Saturday night is with family and friends, at your own house, with a meal you have all contributed to and hopefully a beautiful table to compliment it. Don’t get me wrong, I like to go out and have fun, but my ideal “social style” is encapsulated right here.

This picture portrays my fashion style… seem ridiculous? Well, I love pink. Love love love it. I love girly, ruffley amazingness. And I adore getting all glammed up. The problem? I like to be comfortable, so pretty much every single time I get dressed up, I end up barefoot, with my hair in a bun. Oops

This picture from Elle Decor perfectly sums up my interior design style. Incredible art. Subdued colors scheme, with pops of color as accents. Glamorous but approachable. Contemporary but filled with history. Some patterns but more solids. I just love it all.

This image from one of my fellow blogger’s closets pretty perfectly sums up the way I live. I like organization, but I want things to feel lived in. Bags and shoes on the floor are realistic but color coordination and perfect hanging makes me smile. Although my closet doesn’t look quite this pretty, I think it sums up on living style pretty well!

dress for dresses

Isn’t it incredible the purposes that clothing can serve? We wear it. We design it. We study it. We lust after it. We LOVE it.

But it can also be art…

These photographs are not only incredibly beautiful pieces of editorial artwork, the dresses that are in them, are pieces of art on their own.

Can you imagine if these women were just wearing a tank and jeans? Sure, they’d be pretty pictures, but COME ON, the dresses just totally and completely make it.

I really do love dresses more than any other article of clothing. I wear them at every single opportunity I have. Casual, dressed up or formal, love them all. It is a very serious addiction.

Here are some I’ve been watching recently:

Nicole Miller (I know, right?? I was surprised too)

So these dresses might not be editorial worthly, but I really love them. I actually tried on the last one at an incredible shop in Chicago, Sarca but by the time I decided I want to buy it, they sold out. But now, I’ve found it online, and I think I have to own it. Its actually incredible in person. Exposed zipper in the back, totally asymmetrical neckline, crunchy scrunchy black perfection (I am not a fan of the cuts in the sleeves, definitely sewing those up).

Sorry for the rambling post, but dresses are worthy of a serious rambling.
