AFFILIATE LINKS ARE OCCASIONALLY USED ON AK STUDIO. HOWEVER THEY ARE USED TO ENDORSE PRODUCTS THAT I GENUINELY LIKE AND WANT TO SHARE. ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.
One of my favorite Soho boutiques recently launched a website and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Fragments features some of the most unusual and beautiful pieces (perfect for holiday presents). If you are ever in NYC you should definitely stop by, but in the mean time, you can shop from right here.
Here are just a couple of my favorites from their site (some on my wish list, and some a bit more realistic)
I wanted to share some of the detail and planning that went into my bridesmaid dresses. It was such a fun process working with the talented Elise Bergman to create dresses for my ladies.
The original sketch for the dresses.
So many color choices.
There was a period of time I really wanted to do a pattern, a play on something that was printed to look beaded. These were some of the options we looked at.
Ultimately, we decided to go with a solid, rich, grey crinkle chiffon
And then a muslin dress was made to measure all of the girls in.
I decided I wanted a gold belt that was thin, but packed a big punch. Elise handmade the one above to show me.
I fell in love with Elise’s sample and we decided to do it in gold to tie in with the gold accents in the reception.
Here is the belt being applied to the dress
And the end product on my sis.
All beautiful pictures taken by Elise Bergman throughout the design process (besides the last one).
I know I am a bit biased, but I am in love with the way they turned out. The gold belt helped it from becoming too bridesmaidy, it was classic and something I would have loved to wear. And actually, I’m in a wedding in February where we are being asked to wear long grey dresses of your choice. So I get wear my own bridesmaid dress, how fun?
