Ahhh! I have been to St. Petersburg and you will love it so much! It is the most gorgeous city with all the canals and cathedrals. Of course, you must go to the Hermitage. Also check out Peterhof. Petersburg is definitely much more European than the rest of Russia. xoxo

Prague is adorable- such a magical city with great architecture! A few tips: go to the top of the Astronomical Clock! There's very little room to move around up there, but the view is great. I preferred it to the view from Prague Castle- I actually thought the castle was a little overrated, as there's not much to see there. The Jewish Museum is AMAZING. Rick Steves calls it one of the most powerful Jewish collections in Europe. There are a variety of different sites in the "museum," but the highlights are a synagogue with the names of 90,000 dead Jews scribbled on the walls, a cemetery with over 100,000 tombs, and a collection of artwork done by young children in concentration camps. Also, don't forget to visit Frank Gehry's Dancing House to see a wonderful display of architecture. Have an amazing time with your sister!

My biggest advice is to check out Rick Steves' guidebooks for Prague and Copenhagen. I used him when I went to both places and I think he does a really nice job of highlighting the best parts of cities/countries.

I don't think Rick Steves mentions it, but visit Vseyhrad (I might have spelled it incorrectly, but it's Prague's first fortress, different from the castle). It's on a hill looking out at the river and sets up a neat view of the old town, castle, and some radio towers. Kidding about the radio towers, but it was fun to walk out to it and see another part of the city. And we were there in December so the walk in April will probably be ten times better. Also, go to the (famous) bridge that leads to the castle at sunrise or sunset for amazing lighting. I went for an early morning run down to the bridge and loved how peaceful it was, completely different from late afternoon. If you have time you should day trip out of the city. We went to Karlovy Vary because it was the off-season and the closer castles were closed. It was fun to see the countryside, have a break from the city, and explore!!

In Copenhagen (a couple years ago) we ate at a fantastic French restaurant near a Marc by Marc store. No clue if either still exist in the same location, but find the Marc by Marc store and look for a fancy French place nearby, it was delicious. And do a boat tour even if it seems too touristy. We had drunk drunk drunk musicians as company on ours, but even without their antics it was fun to see the city from the water. Anyways your sister probably knows the city way better than me... get Rick Steves and have a great trip!

ahh, lucky girl! i visited prague a few years ago and it is definitely somewhere i hope to return to someday. i promise everything you see and do will be beautiful, even if you just wander around aimlessly, but if i were going back i would definitely hunt down kava kava kava. it's a coffee shop/cafe that has the greatest mocha piled sky high with whipped cream (i may have gone back several times...). they used to have a website which i can't find, but hopefully it's still open!

have so much fun! take lots of pictures :)
