Now that we’ve settled into our new home a little bit, we’ve realized that a lot of our old pieces just don’t work here. So I figured before listing online, I’d give you guys a shot at anything you’re interested in. I do also want to mention we have a dog, for any of the rugs/upholstery items.

A past client of ours reached out to us to do their daughter’s nursery. Our assignment was feminine, sweet, and a little glam. I have to say I am absolutely in love with the way it turned out.

For the past three years I have worked closely with the most wonderful family on their beautiful home. Today I can finally share it with you (it was featured on Domino.com yesterday). I hope you enjoy!

A couple of years ago I worked with a client who had a really fantastic, fun, preppy aesthetic. Actually pretty out of the norm for me, but it was so much fun! We had a great time collaborating on their living room and dining room. My client had already completed the rest of the house and it was beautiful, so when we were finished, HGTV decided to publish the home. Below some pictures of the completed home. For over a year I’ve been hashtagging on instagram about the Grand Loft; an incredible loft space, with incredible clients.

They wanted a space that felt young, interesting, and comfortable. They moved with a mattress and that was it, a dream client. We started from square one and designed every bathroom, bedroom and living space to their needs.

So today I am finally sharing the completed space in its entirity! It was featured in Chicago Social (you can see the feature from that link) a couple months ago, but for those not in the area, I wanted to post the photos + additional ones that weren’t included in the article.

The direction for the master bedroom was tone-on-tone neutrals from the start but with paint on the walls. Half way through the design process I really pushed for wallpaper. It is such a huge room and I knew a neutral wallpaper would give it so much life and make it feel so cozy. I am so glad we went with it. The custom built iron bed is the showstopper in the room, but the wallpaper in a close second.

When we started out with the space, the bedroom was actually about 30% larger than it is right now. We cut off the back portion and built out a dream closet with the extra space.

The master bath.

The living room is part of a big open concept space with incredible views of the city. We wanted to create a slightly more formal living room without it feels stuffy or unusable.

The dining room is right next to the living room, so the design needed to flow. The blue custom credenza was the starting point for this room.

The kitchen was our biggest design challenge. Initially it was off in the corner of this huge open room. It felt like it was stuffed into a corner like an after thought. We decided to move the kitchen to the center of the room and I am so glad we did.  With the lacquer cabinets, quartzite counters and Urban Electric lights it feels like an urban bakers kitchen.

In the library, we wanted a sexy, cozy room. The art was made with salt by Chicago artist, Susan Crown.

The top floor features an incredible bonus room, bar, and roof deck that is still in progress. This is the bathroom for that space.

I thought these two bathroom before and afters were too amazing not to share. They are both of a part of the fabulous #grandloft that you have probably seen me instagramming about for over a year. But talk about a complete transformation, this place had some very interesting “character” before we got our hands on it.

The striped marble floor, and black grout in the shower are just so fabulous. I want to recreate this entire bathroom in my house now.

This bathroom required a little bit of wall moving (behind that wall on the left is actually the toilet and shower). Again, this floor might be an all time favorite. EVER.

I know its been about 10 months since I last blogged… but I’ve had some newly completed projects photographed and though it would be fun to share here instead of just my portfolio.

This clients’ home has the most beautiful bones; arched windows, herringbone hardwood floors and beautiful moldings. I was brought in to inject some fun. They wanted to move away from the previously all gray palate and add color, pattern and youth to the space.

We chose the palate for this room (navy and lavender) based on a completely different piece of art that we had seen, and loved, but when we visited the artists’ studio, we all fell in love with this particular piece. Luckily, we loved it with everything we had chosen, proving the point that if you buy art that you love, it will always find a place in your home.

The dining room wallpaper and light were previously installed (pretty great foundational pieces). We filled in with the live edge dining table, linen chairs and geometric rug. This room was originally intended to be formal and much more traditional, but we chose to take things in a very different direction.

The master bedroom was completely transformed with this beautiful wallpaper. I just love how cozy it is. A bold pattern is such a commitment and one that a lot of people are afraid to make, but it is SO worth it. This room is the perfect example.

This was a beautiful chest that my client already had but it needed new life. We had it lacquered blue, and the base gold leafed. Paired with the herringbone floors, it is a piece of art on its own!

This little work space is so lively and fun. The chair was custom made in a beautiful, textured blue fabric and the massive butterfly is the perfect compliment.

For those of you that didn’t have a chance to see the SMP Living feature on Tuesday, I wanted to post the completed project here. Along with a couple before and afters which are really the most fun!
