Went and checked out our rehearsal dinner venue. Completely untouched since 1914. So beautiful!

Enjoyed an unexpected date night at Nellcote. Highly recommend.

Received my entire set of china at my shower. Completely obsessed. Cannot wait to start using it.

My sister who is studying in Copenhagen skyped in for the shower. It was so incredibly special to “have” her there. And here is my grandma telling her how beautiful she looks and giving her kisses through the computer. I could die.

Before the weekend began we had our last taste of summer in March.

I treated myself to my favorite Italian ice.

Cannot believe all of the flowers that are blooming. Its gorgeous in our neighborhood.
While the weather was still nice I finally got around to painting this beauty. PS this is the BEFORE picture.
It might’ve looked pretty but this storm brought some more normal temperatures.
I also spent some quality time with this handsome seal pup.
And I finally found a dress for my shower next month, this is a little sneak peek! Seriously in love. Such a special treat from my mom.

And for the dresses… it was too much fun being borrow from “the closet”. I wore a gorgeous Elie Saab gown with an open back almost all the way down to my booty. Amazing. And my friend Laura (in the one shoulder lace) wore Valentino. Our friend (next to me) who helped this all happen wore Dior. And of course, on the far left, the sister of the groom, the reason we were all there!!

This weekend was so much fun. Turns out you have to make spa reservations very far in advance, so that was not included in the fun, but we kept ourselves busy.
On Saturday morning we drove up the Kohler, Wisconsin to stay at The American Club.
First up, was The Brat Stop. I have no shame. I love brats. YUM.
And yes Kohler, Wisconsin is the same town where the Kohler brand was developed. So we took a trip over to the Kohler Design Center. Luckily, everyone enjoyed it (not just me). Highlights were their new collection of brass fixtures and installation of toilets and tubs on the walls.
On the second floor of the design center are bathroom and kitchen displays designed by some famous designers. Here is the worst and the best.
We went on an amazing hike and took lots of pictures!
Yes. We made snow angels. Long story. Love this picture of us our shadows looking down on the river.
And spent a ton of time being lazy in front of the fire.
It was such a fun weekend. If you live in the Chicago/Milwaukee area, I highly suggest a weekend getaway. It was the perfect relaxing weekend. Hope you enjoyed yours too!

We had a very cute house guest. I think Mav approved.

The little man wanted some serious attention.
Went to Millenium Park to see a light show that is reflected into the bean. Crazy.

This weekend was filled with sunshine, delicious food and a lot of fun. So happy I have another day of it today! If you have the day off, hope you enjoy it! If its a normal Monday for you… then we’re a day closer to Friday right?

Picked out invitations for a little party (not my wedding invite)
Spent some quality time with some of my favorite ladies.

Played in the snow with the mouse dog. He was completely obsessed. Look at that tail wag.

A project in process. We got to use one of my all time favorite fabrics!

Went through old pictures of me and the sisters. Growing out your bangs is never a good stage.

Had dinner at the perfect Chicago spot. YUM

Spooned with my baby dog. For the past 5 years he has never been allowed on the bed, but now that he is, I love it!

Received the most ridiculous birthday present from a friend. Nothing like a present wrapped with a sequined Chanel flower. I would’ve been happy with just that!

Lucite and Louis Vuitton stools. I love vintage shopping in Chicago.
Went to my bridesmaid dress fittings with all of the ladies. That’s my mom and sister in the picture. My mom’s completely candid reaction to a hilarious story!

Hiiii everyone! I’m back! I decided to take a break before the holidays and although I enjoyed the time off, I really missed blogging, very happy to be back. I have so much to share with you this week!

First, Christmas! Spencer’s family has the most amazing collection of stockings. It started with his great grandmother, then his grandmother and now his mom. Each person in their family has a felt stocking with their name and character that somewhat resembles them. They are completely hand made and so incredibly special. This year I was lucky enough to have one made for me!


We opened presents and spent lots of time at the beach. It was such a fun first Christmas!
We got home Thursday night and had a couple days to rest up for NYE. We stopped by a friends party, went to a big Italian feast and visited a local piano bar. So much fun.
Hope you all had an incredible holiday! 2012 is going to be a pretty amazing year. I cannot wait to get it started.
