st. john: quick little something

Sorry I’ve been such a terrible blogger, but now I’m home from my vacay and blogging activities will return to normal! Promise.

While this vacation was definitely was not a safari, it was so much fun and so so nice to relax and sit on my butt for 6 days in the sun. I read 5 books, slept in and ate enough to feed an entire family. I’d say it was a success. And for those of you asking for a little peak…

And no, your eyes are deceiving you, that last picture is of donkeys. There were wild donkeys (and deer) at the resort. One of the most bizarre things I’ve seen. You would be laying out, relaxing and all of the sudden a pack (do you call them packs?) of donkeys would wander up.

We stayed at caneel bay, not somewhere I would necessarily recommend, but the beaches were absolutely gorgeous so it definitely helped make up for some seriously lacking service. For a last minute (planned the day before) trip, I’d say it was perfect!

Hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a wonderful one and on that note… on to NYE.

Crazy Things

Well I was supposed to be landing in Cape Town right now, but instead I’m sitting in bed writing this post. Th crazy ice storm in Europe got our flight on Saturday canceled and the holiday craziness made it so that they couldn’t get us on another flight until Thursday. At that point, we would’ve missed half of our trip. So our safari adventure was completely canceled (hopefully rescheduled for next year) and instead, we are going here on Wednesday…

It will still be amazing, just nuts that a trip we have been planning for 6 months isn’t happening.

What are your holiday plans? Any disasters to share?
