Giving thanks

I am going to check out a day early for Thanksgiving, but I have to say… this week… and year was really one to be thankful for.

This week my family is all in one city, I got some incredible news (can’t share quite yet, but I’m freakingggg, how annoying am I?) and I received some of the sweetest, most thoughtful feedback on my guest post on Design Darling.

This year, I got engaged to my very best friend in the world, began my dream career and met some really amazing people. I guess. I am just feeling really lucky right now.

I won’t keep making lists, I just want to say how thankful I am for all of YOU amazing readers. I am in awe of the endless support you have provided for me. Truly, its amazing. Most of you have never even met me, but somehow you believe in me and I appreciate it more than I can even begin to express.

So, thank you. It’s all I can say. And all I can do is…

Yay Thursday

Well I am officially done with design school. I don’t even know what to say. So much has happened in the past 15 months since I started. All I can say is that I am so beyond excited for what lies ahead and that is hugely due to all of your amazing support. So thank you for that, I am appreciative more than I could ever express.

And now… I hope to have LOTS of exciting announcements in the coming months. Stayed tuned. Thank you for coming back day after day.

In the mean time, I am going to look at wedding dresses today, and for me, it’s pure heaven. I want to go every single day. Forever. Its the best kind of dress up.

The amazingly talented Christine, from Bijou & Boheme wrote an incredible new article in the new House of Fifty issue. The piece outlined different ways to make an eclectic home. I think this is something a lot of people strive to accomplish but can be very difficult. We all know Christine has seriously succeeded at this. Just look at her living room:

In the article she gives lots of amazing advice and tips. Christine also shared pictures on how to accomplish these things. She was sweet enough to ask for a picture from my home to demonstrate one of these rules. Shown here is the mixing of metals on my side table (middle left)

It is an itty bitty little mention but so fun!

I also wanted to take a minute to say some serious (and seriously delayed) thank yous to some other amazing bloggers (and to hopefully introduce you to some great new blogs)! These websites have all given little shout outs to TTS recently and they deserve a big snuggle for it. Seriously. Thank you.

Wedding Wednesday

First, I want to say my most humongous thank you to every. single. one. of you. Seriously, your comments yesterday about my project brought tears to my eyes. You are the most amazing, supportive, encouraging people I have ever had the privilege of “knowing”.

And to answer the most commonly asked question, the chevron wall is was hand-painted. Wow right?? If you want the info for an amazing decorative painter in the Chicago area, let me know!

Ok. On to weddings. Because its

If you follow me on Twitter you may have already seen, but I found and tried on (and fit into) my mom’s wedding dress from 1983.

Someone driving past thought I was a real bride and pulled over to say congratulations. How kind of them to pretend I didn’t look like the most horrifying bride on the planet. No make up. Hair in a nest. And THIS headpiece.

Spencer even posed with me. And his toy helicopter.

And PS aren’t I a very generous blogger for making myself look like such an idiot and sharing this picture with you?? I care very much about the enjoyment of your Wedding Wednesdays.

Now. Real dresses. I just made my first appointment to go to look at dresses for next week! The dress shopping is the most important part for me, I’m not going to lie. Luckily, I already know exactly what style I want (because its what I like, but even more importantly because its most flattering for me).

Which style is your favorite?

And, for anyone wondering, none of the dresses shown are dresses I am personally considering. Those are secrets!

Last night I wore my favorite new blush, colored top and decided… its my favorite color. Really, its perfect.

And why I love the color even more…I’m blushing. Blushing from all of your sweet comments yesterday on my little Valentine’s Day Table. You are all seriously amazing.

I thought it would be fun to share a couple pictures from my life the past 7 days…

My little puppy, so sad that we left him this weekend, luckily he had some very special babysitters.

The Lake of Dreams at the Wynn. Every half an hour there is a show that happens over the lake. The night we were there Garth Brooks was performing, so just as his performance began inside the hotel, this little show started at the lake. A big ass frog pops up over the screen and actually moved and sang “I’ve Got Friends in Low Places”. Amazing.

My very first experience at In-N-Out. I don’t eat burgers, but their fries were pretty amazing.

My new table lamp. I am sort of in love. Hammered bronze. Yum. Please excuse my dead plant in the background. They said jade was impossible to kill. WRONG.

And now I want to say a special thank you to Jessica of Lovely Ugly Design. She awarded me and some other very special bloggers a beautiful award today. So here it is.. The Golden Balloon Award.
And best of all, Jessica drew that beauty! So impressed. So so impressed.

Boston was so much fun this weekend. Didn’t really take any pictures sadly, but had such a great time. Wandered the Boston Commons, Newbury St, Harvard Square and went on a Harpoon Brewery tour. Lots of delicious food and fabulous time with friends. One of our friends has an incredible fashion blog that I SERIOUSLY suggest checking out. She has amazing style and does almost daily outfit posts (my favorite).
