Fall Dinner

Last week I had a couple girls over for a fall dinner. You might remember (from here and here) that I love to cook, entertain and decorate. We ate roasted butternut squash salad with arugula and goat cheese, herb and lemon chicken, wild rice salad and apple crumble. I didn’t get any pictures of the food (too busy stuffing my face), but the table was too festive not to share.

I also decided to use our wedding china. If I don’t use it when we entertain I never will, right?

Brunch Preview

Today I am at the Yuppies Files sharing a little bit about myself, hope you will pop over and check it out (and yes this has seriously been the week of guest posts)!

This weekend I am hosting a little Valentine’s Day ladies brunch. I am so excited to go all out with red and pink. The decorating is by far my favorite part. It takes a lot of self control not to buy an entire set of new dishes for the affair. This was our girls valentine’s day dinner last year.

Obsessions

I am so happy to report that my doggy is home! He is shaved and has lots of stitches, but the baby barely even realizes anything happened, he’s so happy. Thank you all SO much for your well wishes for the little man. And now I’ll stop the dog talk. All you non-pet people (is there such a thing??) probably think I am crazy!

Here are my weekly obsessions

I love any and all champagne and prosecco, but this most definitely my favorite. Rustico. It is so easy to drink, so refreshing and so reasonable! It can be found here.

This INSANE “frosted” party that Vogue threw, the White Fairy Tale Ball. I have never seen anything like it in my life. So much inspiration here.

The jaw-dropping artwork from Jenny of My Favorite and My Best. She just goes along blogging and making us laugh, and then out of nowhere… SUPERHERO TALENT. I am deeply in love with every.single.thing this girl does. I am desperately searching for a wall for this goodness.

Seasonal eating. Apples and pumpkin. Is there anything else better than these things baked into cookies, or bread, or cake or everything?

a birthday fete

this weekend i am having a little birthday/holiday get together. my birthday is on tuesday and one of my bff’s is sunday and we have shared birthday celebrations since we were 17! on the invitation, we mentioned that sequins were not required, but suggested. i want to set a good example, so i will be wearing this little number (i show it from behind because i love the little v in the back)

im thinking our party will be exactly like this… oreo cake, hermes boxes and sparklers. what more could a girl ask for?

what are you all doing this weekend? i assume you will be celebrating my birthday all over the country, right? i know N is nyc is. xoxo

this weekend, im having some girlfriends over for dinner and in a perfect world, id set a beautiful table for all of us. sadly, i only have table settings for 6, and there are going to more of us than that. so instead ill enjoy these beauties.

i’ve realized my favorite settings are the unexpected ones. the blue and white china with gold and pink. the pink bow napkins. the orange zebra tablecloth with traditional plates. the champagne sitting in snow. i just love these details.

so this weekend i hosted a birthday party for my mom. she loves flowers as much as i do so i wanted to make sure they were something special. i had my very favorite florist, dilly lily, put two larger arrangements together for the event, and i offered to do the rest. i told the florist i wanted pinks, whites and greens. can you guess which one i did and which one they did? yeahh i thought so. theirs were incredible. and didnt really match the brighter ones that i put together. oops. but all in all everything looked pretty together and i was very pleased how it all turned out!
