Summer Thornton is one of my favorite designers. She is unbelievably talented and her spaces are always glamorous, unusual and perfectly eclectic.

Her new office was recently featured in CS Interiors and then again, on Apartment Therapy, and even though you may have seen it at both or either of these locations, I just had to share.

My thoughts:
1. That wallpaper? Unreal
2. Burled wood file cabinets? Yes, please
3. The exposed brick in a space not decorated like a man pad? Perfection
4. Floor to ceiling inspiration board? Done and done
5. Amazing light fixture? Always
6. Colorful, abstract art? Heaven

So not only does she create spaces like this… but shes based out of Chicago! Wow is all I can say.

i love mirrors. they make rooms appear larger and brighter. two very important qualities! i especially love the idea of a mirrored wall.

using antiqued mirror gives a softer look and laying it down in panels or tiles (without a frame) makes it modern.

this weekend i attended a black and white ball where the girls/women were all beautifully dressed. i was surprised at how many dresses i was ooohing and aahhhing over. the boys/men of course looking perfect in their tuxes. but it got me thinking about black and white decor, and how in it is right now.








do you have black and white in your home? do you think its too severe, so you substitute grey? (aka ME) do you add pops of color to brighten it? what do you think of this “trend”?

i love the use of hermes boxes (or bags) in these pictures. they provide the perfect punch of orange. orange has never been a color i gravitate towards in large amounts, but recently ive really been loving little pops of it. and these little boxes are perfect.

the thing thats crazy? if you haven’t made any recent hermes purchases, you can buy just the boxes off of ebay. yesterday, i saw a box that a birkin came in (supposedly), for sale for $350. they have got to be kidding.

there are a few too many trends in the room. and i would definitely do away with the hand rug and the cat (ew).

But, i admit it, theres something i like about it too…
