Here’s the thing. There is nothing more perfect than a chandelier over a dining room table. Light fixtures are truly my weakness. Sadly, my dining space is definitely not the ideal space for one such chandy. Instead of trying to make this decision with the boy (worst sounding board ever when it comes to lighting), I am taking it to you dearest readers.

So here it is…. my dining space. I live in a completely open plan apartment. Kitchen, dining and living is all one big momma room.

A light fixture above the table could do one of two things:
1. help define the space
2. be totally floaty and weird

Why is it that I have so much difficulty with my own space and not anyone elses? Hmmm. Designer’s problem for sure. Anyways, I have to be careful with the light fixture I choose (if I choose one) because I wouldn’t want it to block my painting. So this definitely limits my choices.

My little puppy, so sad that we left him this weekend, luckily he had some very special babysitters.

The Lake of Dreams at the Wynn. Every half an hour there is a show that happens over the lake. The night we were there Garth Brooks was performing, so just as his performance began inside the hotel, this little show started at the lake. A big ass frog pops up over the screen and actually moved and sang “I’ve Got Friends in Low Places”. Amazing.

what is your THAT factor in a room?

i love neiman marcus’s first call sale. why you ask? because i FINALLY bought this light fixture that ive been talking about for over a year! for 30% off. a sale is perfect motivation to get it together.

cannot wait for it to be installed! will of course share pictures!

so who knew pottery barn teen has some half decent adult goodies. love these trimmed curtains and sparkly chandy! so fun and very reasonably priced.

sorry i didnt post earlier today! it was complete craziness until now.

i had an amazing vacation in new york this weekend. and to top it all off, i went to ochre in soho. let me just say… i fell in love.



i wish i had taken pictures of the store. it was so insanely gorgeous. their lighting is by far the highlight for me. the artic pear (shown here in lamp and massive chandelier) was also made in a pendant version that would look BANGING above my kitchen island.

i also love this couch, reminds me of one from jayson home and garden that i always stare at.

but now im home, without a phone (i left it in a cab… what is wrong with me??) and attempting to forget about these horrifyingly expensive lights.

im pretty much obsessed with these three pieces from candelabra. that dresser would be flawless in my bedroom, side table in my family room and that lamp would look insane just about anywhere. wow.
