When you read this, I will just have landed in Copenhagen! So, this week while I am out, I have asked some of my favorite entrepreneurs to fill in for me. With so much inspiration around with blogs and pinterest, I am starting to feel like design is a little oversaturated.

The more I see the more I realize there has become a “blog look” to a lot of homes. There is nothing wrong with it, actually its really nice. There is even a little bit of a formula to achieve it.

It creates a really fun, bold, accessible look. What do you think? Is it popular because its classic or because its everywhere?

Dear Santa,

I decided to create my dream room. In this room there would be no dogs spreading their white fur, no boyfriends saying no to pink and no budget to restrict my choices! Ahhh a dream room.

Inspiration from Inspiration

This weekend I finally decided to get some work done around my house. One project I’ve been wanting to get done ever since we moved in, was to build a little inspiration wall at my desk. As much as I hate to admit it, my built in desk has been a storage area up until now. So this weekend I got motivated, cleaned it all off, installed cork tiles and finally hung up all of my favorite magazine pages, fabric swatches and photographs.

So happy to be able to sit there, get some work done and have beautiful things to stare at while I do it! Here is my desk now:

So happy with the way it turned out! If I had really taken the time it would’ve been nice to cover the cork in a pretty fabric before tacking things in, but really… my intention is to cover every square inch of it anyways.

so every once in a while you come across a house that makes you want to throw away everything you own and start over. for me, this is the house. its so perfectly eclectic. so bright. so colorful. SO well edited. i love it all.

it belongs to Christine from Bijou and Boheme, you must take a look at the rest of the first floor tour. its beyond gorgeous. and my favorite part is the art above the fireplace (the entire room was designed around it). yum.

i love almost everything that design firm, m design does. but while perusing their website the other day i realized what i loved most were their little vignettes… a zig zag bench and matching shoes to the perfect little vanity set up (with the most amazing green lamp).

while i am trying to decide what fabric to use on my new chairs, i am also considering some new inspirations for my family room. i’ve thought long and hard about doing something very refined, glam and themed but after much consideration, ive realized i cant do it. im eclectic, my style is eclectic and for my own home, i need eclectic. this collage put together by coco and kelley sums up what im hoping to accomplish. not necessarily these fabrics or prints. but the mix.

taylor, rachel zoe’s assistant, has her own blog and while i find it impossible to navigate and mildly boring, i really did like this pic she posted an entry way. its gorg and the railing is unreal.

i admit it. i have not seen the first sex and the city movie, and will therefore, definitely not be seeing the second. however, if, in the near future, i give in and go to see it, it will go be because i was informed they spent over 100 million dollars on the wardrobe. yes. might be worth it for the fashion show value. anywaysss, pictures of carrie’s home have been circulating the blogosphere and i must say, i love this living room. its too cute.

love this little spot. love all the different fabrics and textures: zebra, mirrors, silk + amazing lighting… sold.

this puts me in a good mood today. and ps, today is my first day at my new design job! woohoo.
