Fall Dinner

Last week I had a couple girls over for a fall dinner. You might remember (from here and here) that I love to cook, entertain and decorate. We ate roasted butternut squash salad with arugula and goat cheese, herb and lemon chicken, wild rice salad and apple crumble. I didn’t get any pictures of the food (too busy stuffing my face), but the table was too festive not to share.

I also decided to use our wedding china. If I don’t use it when we entertain I never will, right?

The Weekend!

I promise, sometime I will stop obsessing over my favorite season. But this weekend is looking like a very promising little fall one. We have friends in from San Fransisco and have plans to show them a real Midwestern fall. Apple picking and wine tasting is definitely on the books. And I am planning on making this delicious dish, thank you Lara!

Autumn

Last night we celebrated our pre-anniversary, exactly one year until our wedding, and I’ll be honest, I had too much fun, one too many glasses of wine and overslept a little today.

So I just want to say one thing, and then maybe go back to sleep. And by maybe, I mean definitely.

I really do. Are you sick of hearing it yet? Yesterday, was so perfectly crisp. Layers, boots, scarves. Its just total perfection. We lit our first fire. We have plans to go to the apple orchard and winery next weekend. I’m in heaven.

I know I’ve mentioned my love for fall clothing, but I am not sure you understand how deep it runs. It is not only my favorite season to shop for, but I also shop for it double the amount of any other seasons.

Falling for Fall

Here’s the deal. I love summer. I promise I do. And I am not complaining at all, but fall is my absolute favorite time of year. Especially when it comes to the fashion. Nothing beats fall fashion. Boots, tights, long sleeved dresses, scarves, and light jackets make up my ideal wardrobe.

If I can look like this for the fall I will be one seriously happy girl.

have you fallen for fall?

fall is my favorite season. but fall colors in a room, or in flowers have never been something i gravitate towards. oranges, reds, yellows and browns are ick to me. but these rooms still feel like fall with the right amount of color. or lack of color.

dont you just FEEL the season in these rooms? and yes, i had to add some lacey pumpkins in there.

this weekend is my last taste of summer. its supposed to be 80 degrees in chicago and after this its going to be fall . my favorite season!
