This was a close second for favorite. The foyer. Up close the wainscoting had the most beautiful texture, almost like an antique tin and the most beautiful chandelier.

Loved this space. Industrial and rustic.

Liked this. Mix of neutrals, pink and blue but it still didn’t have a wow factor to me.

Bedroom was pretty, nothing crazy exciting.

Dressing room was by far the highlight. Check out that gorgeous artwork.

The kitchen was beautiful but a little formal and traditional for my taste. But the marble dog bowls (far right) are incredible.

Summer Thornton is one of my favorite designers. She is unbelievably talented and her spaces are always glamorous, unusual and perfectly eclectic.

Her new office was recently featured in CS Interiors and then again, on Apartment Therapy, and even though you may have seen it at both or either of these locations, I just had to share.

My thoughts:
1. That wallpaper? Unreal
2. Burled wood file cabinets? Yes, please
3. The exposed brick in a space not decorated like a man pad? Perfection
4. Floor to ceiling inspiration board? Done and done
5. Amazing light fixture? Always
6. Colorful, abstract art? Heaven

So not only does she create spaces like this… but shes based out of Chicago! Wow is all I can say.

Turns out it was done by a local, Chicago designer, Anne Coyle. As I looked through her portfolio I recognized quite a few spaces I had seen before. But I also realized I really loved her living rooms specifically. Here are a couple that stood out to me:



These rooms were by far my favorite and just happened to all be living rooms. Do you have a room that is your favorite to execute, or comes the most easily to you? Bedrooms are definitely that for me. They always seem to come together seamlessly.

A while back I posted about this room. It actually made my little sister tear up she thought it was so beautiful. Then today, I was reading the new House & Home I saw that the designer, Victoria Webster, had redone the room. The crazy thing is, the room is entirely the same, except for the walls. And wow, do the walls change everything.

They removed the wallpaper and had a mural painted on the walls and wow does it change the entire room. I have to say, I absolutely love seeing how designers move around and change their own homes.

What do you think, do you like the original or the new room better?

i love to eat. like really eat. and the thought of being able to eat a nice big meal on a couch, but still be at a table pretending to be a lady… sounds perfect. banquettes are made for fat kids. and people who like pretty things.

i love almost everything that design firm, m design does. but while perusing their website the other day i realized what i loved most were their little vignettes… a zig zag bench and matching shoes to the perfect little vanity set up (with the most amazing green lamp).

yesterday’s post inspired me to look further into christina murphy’s portfolio. not only do i love her work, but her entry ways are what really stuck out to me. so much character, they set the tone for the rest the home really well.

the NEW lonny is out! and it was like they were reading my mind… they gave us a whole big article on a new ryan korban project!!!! i did a post on him exactly a week ago. so in love with his work. including this project. his use of fur is insanely amazing. very inspiring.

i was recently taking a peek arond Jed Johnson’s website and came across some more contemporary homes than i would’ve expected… AND I LOVE THEM. they have an incredibly wide range of style in their portfolio, everything from uber traditional to clean and modern. very unusual.

this new york residence was my favorite. so white and clean, it really lets the artwork shine.
