I am loving winter (yeahhhh, I know, I am the only one) and all of the bright colors that are being shown, but I absolutely cannot wait for a dose of pastels this spring. It is taking all of my self control not to buy these right now!
I wrote this post 6 months ago about amazing pastel pictures and clothes but now I am dreaming of some pastely goodness in my house. A room like this would be perfect to come home to.

I love the mints, pinks, yellows and greys together. So feminine and soft. But the black leather ottoman gives it an edge and really anchors the space. I would happily move in tomorrow. Sans dog and fiance of course. They might not love as much as I do…

I am sort of obsessed with pastels right now. The problem is they aren’t necessarily fitting for fall.
But these icy colors

and these more saturated hues

have me dreaming of a winter vacation to somewhere perfectly tropical… and a serious pastel shopping spree.

Red has never been a color that I’ve been drawn to. But then… I saw Spring 2012 runways.


And everything changed. Now, I need red. A lot of it.

I love neon, but it can be seriously overwhelming its large doses. I think that’s why I like it mixed with neutrals so much. Its a perfect balance. I also love little bits of neon in accessories. Such a fun way to change up your summer wardrobe. Here are some of my favorite picks:

Yeah so the blue necklace might be a stretch in terms of neon… but I liked it. Which is your favorite neon accessory? Mine has got to be that insane clutch.

I have really been loving pastels lately. Especially light pink with a little bit of greenish blue in there. So soft and pretty.  If it were up to me I’d be throwing some black in too. Helps keep a perfect little balance.

I think I like this look best in fashion. Less so in interiors. Interiors need a little something rough for me to be happy.

You might recognize this room, I know I did…

Turns out it was done by a local, Chicago designer, Anne Coyle. As I looked through her portfolio I recognized quite a few spaces I had seen before. But I also realized I really loved her living rooms specifically. Here are a couple that stood out to me:



These rooms were by far my favorite and just happened to all be living rooms. Do you have a room that is your favorite to execute, or comes the most easily to you? Bedrooms are definitely that for me. They always seem to come together seamlessly.

A while back I posted about this room. It actually made my little sister tear up she thought it was so beautiful. Then today, I was reading the new House & Home I saw that the designer, Victoria Webster, had redone the room. The crazy thing is, the room is entirely the same, except for the walls. And wow, do the walls change everything.

They removed the wallpaper and had a mural painted on the walls and wow does it change the entire room. I have to say, I absolutely love seeing how designers move around and change their own homes.
