One of my favorite decorating accessories are little stools. I love them next to a reading chair, surrounding a sofa, or flanking a console. They are fantastic to use for extra seating when entertaining and serve as a perfect spot to put down a drink. They are a relatively small investment but can make a big statement.

I have very few clients looking to invest in a really expensive neutral rug. A lot of the people I work with have young kids and/or dogs and pricey rug is just not realistic. My go-tos are something that is either fluffy or a natural. Here are my top choices, ones I’ve used in multiple projects and are all really well priced.

My first “best of” post was really well received, so today I’d like to continue this series with the best of abstract art. I can’t even begin to get every beautiful piece of abstract art into one post, but here are a couple of my favorites for a variety of prices.

1. Jenny Andrews : The talented blogger behind MFAMB began painting, and whoa, what she came up with is amazing.
2. Keila Marino : She works with Furbish and Jamie, enough said right?
3. Cristina B : I discovered this beautiful portfolio on Saatchi and fell in love. You can buy originals as well as prints.
4. Sally King Benedict : I recently commissioned one of her paintings for a client of mine and I’m sold. Her work is stunning.
5. Amanda Stone Talley : I have one of her paintings in my dining room and it was worth every cent.
6. Brittany Bass : One of my favorite Etsy portfolios.

Today is the start of a new series here on TTS. The “best of” series, where I will periodically feature the best of different categories of home goods. 

We will start with trays. They are the best home accessory for absolutely any room. They can be used to house candles, jewelry, perfume, books or any other odds and ends.
