Hats off

Blogging has provided me with unbelievable inspiration. Inspiration to follow a new career path. Inspiration to create beautiful spaces. Inspiration to take huge leaps of faith.
What is even more amazing and inspiring is to see bloggers accomplishing MAJOR things through the internet. Just this week, I’ve been blown away by two of these people.
First, Jess (a follow Chicago blogger) created her own line of handbags. She already has a gorgeous line of jewelry, and now added to her portfolio… purses. And they’re not just any bags, they’re gorgeous, lust-after-for-months bags.

Also, this week, Jen from MadebyGirl opened Cocoa & Hearts, a shop where all of her original paintings are now being sold. I am in absolute awe. This is the kind of artwork that MAKES your house. In her first week open, shes already sold quite a few pieces too!

Congratulations to both of these ladies for inspiring other bloggers to do what they love!

The Art Institute

So as you know, I went to The Art Institute this weekend. It was the perfect day for some inside activity with a beautiful weather report of 40 degrees and rain. So along with the entire city of Chicago, we went to the museum.
At your requests… here are some of my favorite pieces in the new modern wing:

Franz Kline

One of the only Cy Twomblys left from the opening exhibit

Light installation in front of Millenium Park on a disgusting Chicago day.

You better all really love this one, because I got in trouble for taking this picture!
We also ate at Terzo Piano, the new restaurant in the Modern Wing and it was unbelievable. I had a FEAST for lunch, so unnecessary. Thank you to City Girl Chicago for the rave review that pushed me to try it!
